He ran for Senate to replace incumbent Saxby Chambliss, but was defeated in the Democratic Primary. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Rand was the first son of Judy Mozen and Randy Knight. Rand attended The Westminster Schools in Atlanta from kindergarten through graduation.
In June, 2007, Rand announced his candidacy for United States Senate.
