He received architectural training there and in Washington, D. C. Beginning as a draftsman with the Norfolk firm of Ferguson & Peebles, he practiced for a time under the firm name of Browne 6 Lehman. In 1931 he joined Charles Calrow and Mr. Fitz-Gibbon in partnership, which however was dissolved three years later following Mr. Calrow’s retirement shortly before his decease.
Of the several buildings in Norfolk which Mr. Brown helped design should be cited the following: the Larchmont and Meadowbrook Schools, 1935-36: additions to the National Bank of Commerce, and buildings for the Virginia Electric Power Plant in 1926. He was co-architect of new buildings at the Central Statd Hospital at Petersburg, Va., during 1935-36.
