Teacher common and graded schools, 8 years. County superintendent schools, 6 years, resigned, 1895, to become assistant to Dean Henry, of College of Agriculture, University of Wisconsin. Was given general charge of short course in agriculture, later took up breeding of grains and forage plants.
Emeritus agronomy.
Congregationalist. Author of many bulletins and editor annual reports Wisconsin Experiment Association, 1902-1929. Also of agronomy section “Plant Production” (text-book).
