His father was thought to be the strongest king of the east in his time. Rao Jaimal was given the jagir of Badnore by Maharana Udai Singh II of Mewar in 1554. He was an important minister in the court of Rana Udai Singh II at the time of the Siege of Chittorgarh by Emperor Akbar and fought alongside various rajputs against the Mughals.
Rao Jaimal died in Chittorgarh in February, 1568.
