Career
During the years of 1975 - 1976 Ray also worked and recorded saxophone with Richard Pinal in Bakersfield, California. He died on August 9, 2001 from respiratory infection, resulting from a freak accident five years earlier when a piece of nightclub ceiling fell on him, broke his back, and led to pulmonary hypertension.
