Ray Reeder

Background

Ray Reeder was born on July 15, 1931, in Roy, New Mexico, United States. He is a son of Berryman Rocque Reeder, a bookkeeper, and Annie Johnson Reeder, a homemaker.

Education

In 1952, Ray received a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from New Mexico Highlands University. Later, in 1955, he obtained a Master of Arts degree from the same university. Reeder continued his education at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with a Master of Library Science degree in 1968.

Career

During the period from 1952 till 1954, Ray served as a corporal in the United States Army Signal Corps. In 1968, he began working as a music librarian at California State University, East Bay, in Hayward, a post he held till 1992. Moreover, between 1970 and 1992, Ray acted as a contributor to "Quodlibet", a newsletter of California State University, East Bay.
