Raymond Ashoori, American Physics educator. Achievements include development of single-electron capicitance spectroscopy-the use of single electrons for determination of quantum energy levels in small semiconductor structures; discovery of the magnetic field induced energy gap for electrons tunneling into a two-dimensional electron system.
