Hallatt is a partner of Bowman Gilfillan Hayman Godfrey Inc, a South African law firm based in Johannesburg. The firm traces its origins to Bowman Gilfillan Hayman Godfrey, established in 1902, which merged in 1998 with Findlay & Tait (established 1885) and John & Kernick (established 1923) to form Bowman Gilfillan. The firm later became known as Bowmans and is one of South Africa's so-called Big Five law firms, with a strong corporate and commercial practice.
