Mcquillin, Raymond Eugene was born on December 24, 1887 in Britton, South Dakota, United States. Son of Edward and Jennie (Peckins) Mcquillin.


Bachelor of Science in Elec. Engineering, University of Minnesota, 1911. Graduate student Yale (Sheffield), 1919-1920.

Graduate Cavalry School, 1923. Honor graduate, Command and General staff schedul, 1925. Graduate Army War College, 1931.


Commissioned second Lieutenant United States. Cavalry, 1912; advanced through grades to brigadier general, 1942. Served on Mexican border, 1912-1916.

Hawaii (cavalry), 1917-1918. Signal Corps, 1918-1921. Military aide at White House, 1927-1931.

General Staff duty, 1934-1936. Instructor, Command and General staff schedul, 1936-1940. With 1st Armored Division, N. African Campaign.

Inspector General Fifth Army, 1946-1947. Retired Decorations: Silver Star, Officer’s Cross Polonia Restituta. Medal of Military Merit, 1st class (Mexican).
