Industrial and labor analyst in mining and production of coke in Southern Western Pennsylvania, 1898-1910. On assignments covering disasters and strike riots of that era.

Managing editor Pittsburgh Dispatch, 1916-1921.

Editor Honolulu Advertiser since 1922. Served as special New York correspondent and staff correspondent newspapers in Philadelphia.

Pittsburgh closely identified as editorial and radio commentator on agricultural, industrial and shipping affairs and developers in Hawaii and the Pacific. Lieutenant commander United States Naval Reserve Force.
