Background
GALLOWAY, Rear - Arthur Archibald Campbell was born on June 30, 1855 in Delhi. Son of A. Galloway, Magistrate in Indian Civil Service, who was son of Major-General Sir A. Galloway, Chairman East India Company. Mother was of the Campbells of Melfort.

Career
Lieutenant 1876; Commander, 1891. Captain, 1898; Rear-Admiral, 1907. Aide-de-camp to King Edward VII., 1906-1907.
Served in Egypt, 1882.
Saved lives from drowning in 1873, 1877, 1882, 1885. Seen much service in revolutions.
Selected to command Portsmouth Barracks after the mutiny, 1906. Has commanded 11 ships and 2 establishments.
Is a Fellow of the Meteorological Society.
A Governor and on Committee of Marine Society. County Commissioner of Boy Scouts, Kent. Rear-Admiral Commantling Devonport Subdivision Home Fleet.
