Education

Beatty made an immediate impact for Loyola from his first game, starting every game in his four years at the Evergreen, leading the Greyhounds to four league championships as well as two National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I tournament appearances which included a visit to the Sweet 16 in 2001. Beatty was named as the MAAC Rookie of the Year in 1999, in addition to earning 1st Team All-Conference honors from 1999 to 2002. He is the only player in MAAC Men"s Soccer history to achieve such a feat.

Beatty was ranked in the Top 20 nationally in Gaelic Athletic Association (goals against average) during all four of his seasons, including finishing second overall nationally in 2000.

He was named to the South Atlantic Regional All-America team three times, and twice named an honorable mention national All-America by collegesoccernews.com.

Beatty remains the school"s all-time shutout leader, with 43 in 80 games played.

Career

Youth Recruited by perennial powers such as Duke University and University of Maryland, Beatty chose to attend Loyola University Maryland. College Professional Despite interest from several Master of Library Science teams as well as the Baltimore Blast of the MISL, Beatty did not enter the Master of Library Science Draft and stayed at Loyola to finish his Master of Business Administration. Upon graduation, he signed on with Arzachena Calcio in Italy (Serie Doctorate) in late 2003 before an offer from Pro Patria (Serie C1) drew him away. Hampered by a torn hamstring, Beatty returned to the United States and although he received interest and offers from several teams in Europe (including Cagliari Calcio, now in Serie A), he ceased playing altogether.

Achievements

• Beatty starred at Loyola University Maryland (previously Loyola College) from 1999 to 2002, and remains the only player in MAAC men"s soccer history to be named as a First Team All-Conference selection for four years in addition to being named Goalkeeper of the Year in all four campaigns. Beatty made a name for himself at Archbishop Spalding High School, where he was named as the 1997 Baltimore Sun Baltimore Metro Area Player of the Year as well as garnering All-State and All-America honors. Beatty was named as the MAAC Rookie of the Year in 1999, in addition to earning 1st Team All-Conference honors from 1999 to 2002. He is the only player in MAAC Men"s Soccer history to achieve such a feat.
