Rebecca Gonzales was born on December 24, 1946, in Laredo, Texas, United States, the daughter of Jesus Flores, a migrant field worker.

Education

Rebecca attended Laredo Junior College, Texas A&I University, and Lamar University.

Career

Rebecca has worked as a high school teacher and journalist. She contributed her articles to periodicals, including New Mexico Humanities Review, Texas Observer, and Pawn Review. Since childhood she has also written poetry. Her works are represented in anthologies, including America in Poetry (1988), edited by Charles Sullivan, Abrams.
