(This is a sequel to the author's "Early Development in Ma...)
This is a sequel to the author's "Early Development in Mathematical Economics" and covers developments in this field after the appearance of Cournot's "Recherches" in 1838 and until the publication of Jevons' "Theory" in 1871. It examines systematically these developments in the context of the generally negative climate existing during this period towards mathematical economics. Contributions examined include not only those by authors like Dupuit, Thuenen and Gossen, but also by lesser known or practically unknown authors. It also includes a full bibliography of mathematical economics until 1871.
