Ren-ichi Takenaka was born in 1911 in Kobe, Japan.
Graduated from Architecture Department of Waseda University (1933) and then studied at Postgraduate Department of the same university.
Entered Takenaka Engineering Firm (1934). Made official trip to Europe and America (1937). Served as president of Takenaka Engineering Firm in Manchuria and then director of the head office and was appointed president (1945).
Held additional posts of director of Nibon Sangyo Kyokai (Japan Industrial Association) and Osaka Rotary Club.
