lieutenant should also be noted he was in Private Practice from 1974 - 1986. He served on the 13th Judicial Circuit of Florida from 1988–1993, and Appellate judge for the Second District Court of Appeal of Florida from 1993 - 1997. In 1997 he was appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve as a United States District Judge.
On December 17, 2011 he assumed senior status.
