Richard Snowden Andrews was of Irish ancestry, was born in 1830.

Education

He was educated in Washington and at Georgetown, and later, the young man studied architecture in the office of Niernsee & Neilson.

Career

Beginning practice during the 1850 s, he was a partner in the firm of Faxon & Andrews and designed a number of schools, churches and other buildings in Baltimore the Clvl1 War Period he served with the Confederate Army, and did not again resume practice. Embittered by the fall of the Confederacy, he left the U. S. and for a few years lived in Mexico Following his return, his name was lost in oblivion.
