Career
Richard Briggs was born on December 7, 1952. He attended University of Kentucky, where he received his Doctor of Medicine He served in the Army and retired with the rank of Colonel. He was elected to the 109th General Assembly.
He is 2nd Vice Chair of the Senate State and Local Government Committee.

He is a Methodist.
