Richard Buskin was born on March 30, 1959, in London, United Kingdom.
Buskin moved to America in 1995. He is a freelance photo-journalist, specializing in pop culture, music, film and television. Buskin has contributed articles to such magazines and newspapers as Playboy, Paris Match, Billboard, Melody Maker and Sound On Sound, the Observer, Independent, Sydney Morning Herald and New York Post. He is also a co-author and consulting editor on the Billboard Illustrated Encyclopedia of Music and the Definitive Illustrated Encyclopedia of Rock.
As an interviewer, Buskin has been working with anyone from Mick Jagger, Sir George Martin, Roger Daltrey and David Bowie to Jack Lemmon, Ginger Rogers, Tony Curtis and Roger Moore.
Buskin is regarded as a creator of press releases and publicity bios for the likes of Aerosmith, The Eagles, and Michael Jackson, he has appeared on TV shows including CBS’s (Columbia Broadcasting System) Entertainment Tonight, A&E’s Biography, E! Entertainment’s True Hollywood Story, AMC’s Backstory and the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) Television News.
During his career, Buskin wrote more than twenty non-fiction books on various subjects. Among these are Inside Tracks: A First-Hand History of Popular Music from the World's Greatest Record Producers and Engineers (1999), Blonde Heat: The Sizzling Screen Career of Marilyn Monroe (2001), Sheryl Crow: No Fool to This Game (2002) and Die Trying: One Man's Quest to Conquer the Seven Summits with mountaineer Bo Parfet (2009). Additionally, he is a co-author of comic Phyllis Diller's autobiography and the memoirs of celebrity fashion stylist June Ambrose, mountaineer Bo Parfet and Congresswomen Linda Sánchez and Loretta Sanchez.
Buskin is the New York Times best-selling author and a well-known journalist, whose writings appeared in magazines and newspapers around the world.
