Career

Delphy was appointed Midshipman 18 May 1809 and served with distinction in United States during the engagement with HMS Macedonian 25 October 1812. He was killed in the action in which Argus lost to HMS Pelican 14 August 1813.

Achievements

• A memorial to Delphy and the Captain is at Street Andrew"s Church in England. Delphy is listed as aged 18, but there is no way to confirm this as fact. The destroyer United States Ship Delphy (Doctor of Divinity-261) was named for him.
