In 1968 Richard G. Kent graduated from Hamden Hall Country Day School. In 1972 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University. In 1975 Kent obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Boston College Law School.
Richard G. Kent began practicing law in 1975. He is a practicing attorney in Fairfield, Connecticut. Professionally he is a partner at the law firm of Meyers, Breiner & Kent in Fairfield, Connecticut. He has also performed pioneering work on fathers' rights and has authored several books, some of which have dealt with custody issues; namely Fighting for Your Children and Solomon's Choice.
Kent's passion for sports led him to appearances on ESPN, working for CBS on three men's Final Fours, and he has been a consultant to two of the top agency groups - IMG and the NBA. Kent's sportsbooks include Big East Confidential, Inside Women's College Basketball, and Roger Federer: Back On Top. He has authored numerous articles on family law, including custody matters, alimony, and modification provisions. He has been an active participant in the Special Masters settlement programs (Danbury, Milford, New Haven, Bridgeport, and Stamford).
