Richard Kocents worked at the Royal Shipyard in England. In 1700 he was accepted to the Russian service. In the years 1701-1709 built at the Voronezh shipyard 70-gun ships "Sleeping Lion" and "Old Oak". In the years 1707-1710 at the Tavrov shipyard laid with D. Hire 12 ships in 24, 48 and 80 guns, which remained unfinished.
