Richard Patrick was born on May 21, 1944 in Galveston, Texas, United States. Son of William Gerard and Iris Elsa (Allington) Norris.

Education

Richard was a student of the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, United States. In 1966 he became a Bachelor of Arts. Richard studied at the State University of New York in New York, United States. In 1968 he became a Master of Arts in the area of Political Science. In 1976 he was a student of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. He became a Doctor of Philosophy in the area of American Studies.

Career

Richard worked as an instructor at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States from 1970 to 1976. In this year he became a lecturer of the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, United States. He worked there for two years. From 1978 to 1980 he was a director at the Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, United States. In 1979 he was a consultant of the American Alliance of Museums in Washington, United States. From 1980 to 1985 he was a curator of history of the Museum of Science and History in Fort Worth, Texas, United States.

In 1981 Richard became a lecturer at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. He worked there for four years. In 1984 Richard worked as a grant reviewer of the Institute Museum of Superior vena cava syndrome in Washington, United States. In a year he worked at the Michigan Council Humanities in Lansing, Michigan, United States. In 1985 he was a director of the Kalamazoo Valley Museum. In 1986 he was an adjunct professor of the Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States. I*n 1989 he worked at the National Endowment for Humanities.
