As a boy actor he was known as Brooke. He has led a versatile career in film, stage and television in a wide range of roles. He took over the role of the clumsy but sympathetic romantic lead previously played by Jim Dale, in the Carry On films Carry On Loving (1970) and Carry On at Your Convenience (1971).
He is Chairman of the Catholic Association of Performing Arts (CaAPA) (formerly the Catholic Stage Guild). aka The Honest Courtesan (UK) (US: working title).
