The Padovan sequence, a sequence of numbers with properties similar to the Fibonacci numbers, is named after him despite the fact that in Padovan"s 1994 essay Dominus Hans van der Laan: Modern Primitive he attributed the sequence to Hans van der Laan. Padovan is also the author of the books Proportion: science, philosophy, architecture (1999) and Towards universality: Le Corbusier, Mies, and De Stijl (2002).
