Career
In 1989, he sold off his portfolio of Southern California real estate just before the market crash. Between 1989 and 1990, he sold 5,000,000 square feet (460,000 m2) of property in 19 months. In 2001 he helped establish the Richard South. Ziman Center for Real Estate at the University of California, Los Angeles Anderson School of Management.
