Fred South. Ball began his law practice in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1890.
He formed a partnership with William Samford and the firm was known as Ball & Samford until Mr.
Samford became a judge on the Alabama Court of Appeals. Subsequently, Mr. Ball formed a partnership with Edmond Ruffin Beckwith and the firm was known as Ball & Beckwith until 1925 when it became known as Ball & Ball, which name it retained for over 45 years.
lieutenant became a professional association in 1977 and in 1988, its name was changed to Ball, Ball, Matthews & Novak, P.A. Throughout its history, the firm has engaged in the general practice of law with emphasis on civil defense litigation and corporate law.
