Following a three-year period of practicing law in Jackson, Mississippi, Richard F. Scruggs returned in 1980 to his childhood environs of Jackson County, Mississippi, to establish Richard F. Scruggs, P.A. in Pascagoula. Commencing with a local general practice, he soon became quite busy in his representation of a number of commercial bankruptcy clients.
Over the years, the practice and the firm grew to its present size principally through its representation of clients injured in the workplace, chiefly those exposed to high noise levels and other injurious substances and processes in their occupations.
The firm is equipped with a modern computer network, and enjoys access to various computer-assisted legal and other research services in support of its clients. Firm members and staff are encouraged to participate in continuing legal and office skills education, to devote time and energy to deserving pro bono publico matters and to remain active in civic affairs
