Richard Houston Hedges was born on July 16, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, United States to the family of Houston and Frances Hedges.
Richard Houston Hedges started education at the University of Kentucky. In 1974 he graduated with a bachelor's degree. Then, Hedges enrolled in Eastern Kentucky University where he received a master's degree and a Master of Public Administration degree. In three years, Richard enlarged his academic levels by receiving a doctorate. Finally, in 1995, Hedges earned the highest law degree at Capital University in Ohio.
Before entering the world of law, Hedges worked in his first degree field, in healthcare. For five years he was a rehabilitation specialist serving in Somerset, and for a year he was chief health planner in Frankfort.
After that, Hedges joined the department of medical behavioral science at Medicine College of the University of Kentucky as a research associate, served for the university as assistant professor, was appointed program administrator at Rollman Psychiatric Institute, and, since 1992, continued his academic career at Ohio University.
When Professor Hedges became the Doctor of Jurisprudence, he had changed working places a few times before he founded his own law office. Hedges was an associate law at Legal Professional Association, assistant city attorney and city prosecuting in Nelsonville, Ohio since 1997.
In 1998, Richard Hedges opened Law Office of Richard H. Hedges. Today, he has already been licensed for more than 20 years and works in Athens, Ohio.
