Career

Commissioned Second lieutenant United States Army, 1913, and advanced through the grades to brigadier general, 1945. Platoon commander 1st Engineer Regiment, 1913-1914, 16-17. Served with 2d, 26th and 214th Engineer regts. and as instructor O.T.C., 1917-1919.

District engineer Chicago United States Engineer District, 1940. Engineer IX Corps, 1940-1941. Engineer, 4th Army, 1941-1943, 9th Army, since 1943.
