He threw right-handed and batted left-handed. In his three-season career, he played for the New York Mets (1975–1977). Baldwin was drafted by the New York Mets in the 9th round of the 1971 amateur draft on June 8, 1971.
He made his major league debut on April 10, 1975, pitching a scoreless eighth inning in the Mets second game of the season, a 3–2 11-inning loss to the Philadelphia Phillies at Shea Stadium.
