Career
He played safety and cornerback for six seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers (1982-1986) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1987). Woods grew up in Boise and played high school football at Boise High and college football at Boise State, where he was a standout defensive back and punt returner. As a punt returner at BSU, he rarely called a fair catch, earning him the nickname "Riverboat Gambler." In the 1982 NFL Draft, Woods was selected in the fourth round (97th overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
