Suzuki Rikie was born in Nagoya, 1911.
After graduating from Tokyo University (1936) was sent to France as an exchange student and studied French drama (1937-1939).
Returning home was appointed professor of French literature at Peers' School (1946). Has written and translated several French classics by Moliere (Jean Baptiste Poquelin) and Guy de Maupassant and others.
