Background
Rinchū Tokiwazu was born in 1842 in Edo, Japan (now Tokyo, Japan). He was the son of a retainer of Morioka Clan (Miyagi Prefecture). Later was adopted by the head family and named Tokiwazu-Komojidayū VI (1879). Due to some misunderstandings with his fellowmen left the family and took to himself the name by which he is now known (1886).
