In 1997, Schiano"s first novel, Sweet Bitter Love, was published by Rising Tide Press (New York). Mississippi Schiano"s other books include "Live A Flourishing Life," Painting the Invisible Manitoba published by The Reed Edwards Company (Master of Arts). She contributed short stories to two anthologies, Early Embraces, edited by Lindsey Elder (Alyson Publications, California) and Beginnings, edited by Lindsey Elder (Alyson Publications, California), and has written articles for The Huffington Post / America Online Healthy Living, the Worcester Business Journal, and guest blogger for Psychology Today.

Schiano received her Bachelor of Arts from Wells College, Aurora, New York and completed Masters course work at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. In addition to her work as a writer, Mississippi Schiano is a stress management and resilience strategist and coach, inspirational speaker, and the creator of the program "Live A Flourishing Life." She received her Strategic Intervention Coaching Certificate from Robbins-Madanes.
She resides in Massachusetts.
