State’s attorney Marianna Judicial Circuit, 1912-1921. Attorney general of Florida, term January 4, 1921-January 1925. Reelected attorney general, term January 1925-1929.
Resigned December 4, 1925, and same day appointed justice of Supreme Court of Florida. Elected same office for term, 1927-1933, chief justice, March 1931-January 1933. Designated chief justice for term January 1943-January 1945.
