Robert Adler, Austrian, American electronics engineer. Achievements include 200 patents: invention of ultrasonic remote control for television sets, electromechanical I.F. filter, electron beam parametric amplifier, ultrasonic touch system using rayleigh waves; research on improved touch system using Love waves. Fellow Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (Edison medal 1980); member National Academy Engineering.
