Acted for live years as Examiner in Education in St. AndrewsUniversity,and for thirty-five years has been an Examiner and Secretary to the Board of Examinations in East Scotland under the Coal Mines Acts.
Has been an elder in the Church of Scotland for thirty-nine years, and takes an active interest in its Sabbath School work. Imperial Service Order 1903; Justice of the Peace.
