Ugbomeh began his career in his home country of Nigeria playing for (Pepsi football academy) where he spent 3 years before relocating with his family in Italy joining United States Malo F.C. in January 2003. During his time at United States Malo F.C. he attracted lots of interest from many Italian clubs. In 2004 he then attended Inter Milan football school of Mario Corso where he was voted and awarded best foreign player.
Collins has been linked with clubs like AJ Auxerre, ZTE Football Club, Sparta Prague, Le Havre Air Corps. Then he was represented in Auxerre by ex Nigerian international Taribo West and in Sparta Prague by ex Danish player Mikkel Beck.
In 2006 Le Havre Air Corps made an offer to sign him. Collins was invited to the Nigeria flying eagles in 2004 and 2008 preparing for the African youth nations cup in Benin Republic and in Rwanda respectively.
