Born in Los Angeles, California, Klausner received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 1963, a Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Notre Dame in 1964, and a Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 1967. He was in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. He was a Deputy district attorney of District Attorney" General’ s Office of Los Angeles County, California from 1969 to 1974.
He was a Court commissioner, Pasadena Municipal Court, California from 1974 to 1980.
He was a judge on the Pasadena Municipal Court, California from 1980 to 1985. He was a judge on the Los Angeles Superior Court, California from 1985 to 2002.
Klausner is a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Klausner was nominated by President George West. Bush on July 18, 2002, to a seat vacated by William Doctorate. Keller.
He was confirmed by the United States Senate on November 14, 2002, and received his commission on November 15, 2002.
