In 1943 he graduated Langley High School and attended Duquesne University. In 1943 after he graduated he attended the United States Air Force and served in World World War II Through 1943 to 1945. In 1947 he became an auditor for the city of Pittsburgh and ended his service in 1952.
1966 was a big year for Robert as he ran for house of representatives in 1966.
