Ghanem hails from a Maronite family. Robert Ghanem is a longtime deputy of the National Assembly of Lebanon and was the minister of education in the second government of Rafic Hariri. Robert Ghanem is currently a candidate for President of Lebanon and participates in the Lebanese presidential election, 2014.
