He is a United Kingdom child psychiatrist specialising particularly in hemiplegia and online psychiatric screening. Robert is the primary inventor of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire and the Development And Wellbeing Assessement or DAWBA, psychiatric assessment instruments that are employed world wide. As well as writing many academic papers Robert Goodman is, with Stephen Scott, the author of a widely used book on child psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (1st edition 1997, 2nd edition 2005, 3rd edition 2012).
