Bachelor of Science, United States Naval Academy, 1902. Bachelor of Laws, George Washington University, 1925. Graduated from the United States Naval War College, 1920, United States Army War College, 1927.

Career

Eilif C. Hanssen). Entered United States Navy, Spanish War, 1898, served successively through all grades to rear admiral, 1947. Retired voluntarily, 1929. Served in Spanish War, West Indies Revolution.

Commander troop transports to France, World War I. Served on active duty in Alaska, India and Navy Department, World World War World War II Vice president, director Southern California Associate Newspapers (a subsidiary of Copley Press) since 1929. Nominated Republican, candidate to Congress, 18th California District, 1931.

Delegate from California to Cleveland Republican National Convention, 1936. Decorations: Navy Cross, Spanish War Service medal. World War I Service medal with service bars and stars for Battleship Fleet, West Indies Campaign, Army Armed Guard Service, Cruiser and Transports Force.

Czechoslovak medal of Merit First Class with silver star. War Department Letter of Commendation for World War I Services.
