Robert Jacob Samuelson is a columnist for The Washington Post, where he has written about business and economic issues since 1977, and is syndicated by the Washington Post Writers Group.
He was a columnist for Newsweek magazine from 1984 to 2011. He began his career in journalism as a reporter on the business desk of The Washington Post in 1969. He left the paper to become a freelancer in 1973.
