Robert (Bob) Leonard has a passion for creating successful business, non-profit and leadership transformations. He is a strategic planning expert who coaches executives who need to take team-building, innovation and marketing to the next level.
Background
Bob began his coaching career as a Group Chairman (i.e. Executive Coach) in 2008 for Vistage Worldwide - the world's leading chief executive membership organization. Since then, he has coached dozens of CEOs, Business Owners and Entrepreneurs within multiple industries and has facilitated hundreds of senior executive “think tanks” and peer group mentoring meetings. Beginning in 2001, he also became the owner/managing partner of a local franchise for Fortune Management which is a national healthcare practice management company. In this role he has been an Executive Coach for more than a dozen privately owned Dental Practices.
Education
Bob’s academic credentials include earning a Master of Arts degree from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education & Psychology in 1978 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts at Morehead State University in 1975.
During his undergraduate years, Bob was made a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of the state for his outstanding non-profit fund raising contributions on campus. He was also the political cartoonist for the Morehead State University student newspaper "The Trail Blazer." He was also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and served as the Vice President of the Interfraternity Council (IFC).
Prior to attending Morehead State University, Bob studied at both the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati.
Bob is a 1971 graduate of Milford High School in Milford, Ohio.
Career
Prior to becoming an Executive Coach, Bob spent almost 30 years working as a “Madison Avenue” advertising executive helping Fortune 500 companies achieve their strategic business objectives via broadcast, print, direct mail and collateral advertising. Bob is a former Vice President, Management Supervisor with the J. Walter Thompson Company (JWT) and a former Account Director with Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB) - two of the largest and most respected advertising agencies in the world. He has been responsible for developing successful marketing and advertising strategies for a wide variety of diverse brands ranging from Burger King restaurants to Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet jet fighter planes. His national advertising clients have included: The Boeing Company, Mercedes-Benz USA, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, The Ford Motor Company, Burger King Corporation and The Dole Food Company. Bob also worked on the client side of advertising, during which his corporate business experience included working as a marketing executive at the national headquarters of Mercedes-Benz USA, where he managed all regional dealership advertising, direct marketing, database marketing and telemarketing within the United States.
Membership
Bob has been the Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee for the Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley and has served on the Board of Directors for both the Mentoring Alliance of Sonoma Valley and Hospice By The Bay. For more than a decade he has also chaired several prominent patriotic annual events and activities north of the Golden Gate to include: the Sonoma Valley Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots Drive,” the Sonoma Valley Joint Memorial Day Observance and the Wine Country Marine Corps Birthday Ball. Bob is also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Freemason and a member of the AAHMES Shriners. In 2005, Bob was invested in the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller, which is a 900 year-old Christian, chivalric, ecumenical and international non-profit organization. He became the Commander of the San Francisco Commandery within this Sovereign Order in 2019.

Bob and his wife Kathleen (who is a high-profile top producing residential agent for Compass Real Estate in the Sonoma Valley) enjoy living in the heart of the California Wine County where they both love to give back to their community, entertain friends and play with their Australian Shepherd dog "Sailey."
