Robert Louis Flood is British organizational scientist, former Professor of Management Sciences at the University of Hull, specialized in applied systemic thinking, particularly in the areas of strategic management, organizational behavior and organizational improvement.
Education
Born in London, Flood received his Bachelor of Arts in Systems and Management in 1983 at the City University and his Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy in Systems Science at the City University in 1985. In 1997 he was awarded of Doctor of Science from the Hull University for his contribution to the field of management.
Career
After university Flood worked several years in the film business in the management of Paramount Pictures, in health service for the Berkshire Area Health Authority, and at the National Opinion Polls. In 1987 he was appointed Professor at the Hull University, and later also had a part-time appointment as Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Maastricht School of Management. Flood has been founding editor of the international journal "Systemic Practice and Action Research" and is also associate editor of the "Systems Research and Behavioral Science" journal.
He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control.
