Ordained Baptist ministry, 1885. Pastor Georgetown, Massachusetts, 1885-1887, Methuen, 1887-1891, Warren Avenue Church, Boston, 1891-1898. Washington Avenue Church, Brooklyn, since 1898.

University preacher at Harvard, 1899, 1900. Lecturer on psychotherapy, and the Emmanuel movement. Life member Brooklyn Institute Arts and Sciences.
