Robert William PERKS, British Member of Parliament.
Education
Studied at New Kingswood School, Bath. King’s College London. Was for 25 years a solicitor in London in partnership with Lord Wolverhampton.
Career
Member of the Arm of C. H. Walker and Company, contractors. Was interested, with late T. A. Walker, in Barry Docks, Preston Docks, Buenos Ayres Harbour Works, Manchester Ship Canal, and other works. His firm are now constructing the Rio Janeiro Quays and Harbour Works for the Brazilian Government, The Argentine and Chili Transandine Raily., etc.
Member of the Arm of Macarthur, Perks, and Company, Ltd., of Ottawa, Canada, contractors for public works. One of the founders, and the Treasurer of the Liberal League. Treasurer of Wesleyan Methodist Twentieth Century Million Fund.
Member of Parliament (Liberal) Louth Division Lincolnshire, 1892- 1910. 1st Baronet, cartulary-register 1908; Member Institute Civil Engineers; Justice of the Peace Oxfordshire and Kent.
