Assistant-Surgeon Westmeath County Militia, 1873. Surgeon-Major 9th Battalion Rifle Brigade, 1885, and State of New South Wales. Served South Africa, 1900-1902.
Present with General Broadwood’s Cavalry Brigade during the advance ion Pretoria, and at Diamond Hill (despatches twice, Companion of the Bath.Queen’s medal with 4 clasps, King’s medal with 2 clasps).
Officer Commanding New South Wales Army Medical Corps, 1896-1904. A Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem.
A Life Member Deutscher Samariter Verein, and Vice-President of the New South Wales centre of the Saint John Ambulance Association. Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.E., Justice of the Peace.
